If you are having stability problems with your existing applications,
check VCM (Version Conflict Manager). Find VCM in the Tools menu of MS
System Information (msinfo32.exe).
In general you should replace any earlier versions of files with their
backed up version so that the latest version is in use.
Win98 setup always loads its own version of files, even if the version
on the machine is later than the win98 version. When this happens,
details are recorded so that VCM can reinstate the latest version if
instructed.
