a tough question concerning linux

hello
the question is, " can a thinpad 750c support a form of linux?"

the machine is usable and seems like a perfect candidate for this experiment.
in addition, the lack of 'overhead' that the linux system will give this machine might be able to extend its useful life a bit.
what do you think?
