I have no experience running it on a Thinkpad, but SoftFSB works fine on my
desktop computer, built around an Abit BM6 motherboard. Of course, whenever
you experiment with overclocking, be prepared for frequent lockups until you
find settings that agree with your hardware.. Overclocking works well enough
in desktop systems that have adequate ventilation, but I can imagine heat
being a problem in notebook computers like the Thinkpad. Like I said,
though, I have no experience overclocking laptops. (A program like Waterfall
or CPUIdle or Rain should help keep your CPU cooler while it's idling, as
well as conserve battery life on your thinkpad.)
