I want to use my ThinkPad to record some of my old (out of print, CDs never
produced) vinyl LPs and cut CDs from them. I have some sound editing
software (Sonic Foundry's SoundForge with their CD Architect and Noise
Reduction plugins) and a CD-ROM burner. I know that most sound cards have
both "Mic in" and Line in" but the ThinkPad 770Z only has "Mic in".
Can anyone tell me the difference between "Mic in" and "Line in"?
Can I use "Mic in" to record from my amplifier?
If not, is there a PCCARD sound card that someone can recommend I look at
that does have "Line in"?
Thanks in advance.
