The box does say Win98 is a requirement;
guess I will have to start reading directions
now...it's a brave new world.
The USB controller shows up in device Manager
but down at the bottom the port is Yellow !'ed
our, saying it is disabled by hardware, and needs
to be re-enabled.
Maybe that's what the install CD Rom for the 'scope
does -- the software that sees the OS and will not
budge any further.
If need be, I guess I can uninstall the port, and
then reinstall it for use with devices that will
tolerate Win95 OSR2.
But I *still* think it is looking for a specific file
which if found, would make the Thinkpad's
new port happy.
