Same thing here. Regular 770 with Win2000 RC2 on a 4 GB Apricorn HD.

All things point to an compatibility problem between the drive and Windows
2000's IDE driver. The drive appears to be randomly resetting based upon the
fact that the heads are unloading. It's not a deferred write from the cache.
