I had a Viewsonic flat panel that was pretty sharp, but it all depended on
which video card you used. It was very picky about video cards, some were
great, some OK, and some very fuzzy. It was the worst on my Thinkpad 560Z.
But that was also true of any other monitor I hooked up to the monitor port
on my 560 - even my 19" Sony Trinitron - very fuzzy, really just not usable.
