Hello ThinkPad Users,
I'm now running my 770ED with a full install (not upgrade) of Win98SE.
I've installed all the relevant fixes from
windowsupdate.microsoft.com, and things are going mostly pretty well.
One thing that is not going completely well is the display. It
flickers, particularly with certain colors. Those colors include my
"Slate" Appearance Scheme background (R:65, G:65, B:65, Hue:60, Sat:0,
Lum:61). Yes, I have updated my BIOS, which did not help.
Workaround: I find that if I go into the screen properties, go to
Settings, choose Advanced, go to Adapter, and change the Refresh Rate
>from "Optimal" to "Adapter default" (Applying the change) and back to
"Optimal" (again Applying the change), that the flicker stops. This
says to me that the video driver is probably not correctly
initializing the Refresh Rate.
Anyone else notice this?
Ron.
