Greetings:

I apologize for posting this again, having done so several weeks ago.
However, I received no responses to that post. Therefore, I decided to
give it another try, since I have not been able to resolve the problem.

After working well for the first 11 months, TP310ED starts beeping after
about 10-15 minutes and goes into hibernation if I don't plug in the AC
adapter.

I have sent the unit in for warranty service 5 times in the last 9
months, without success. They have replaced various parts, including
the screen, the keyboard and have updated the BIOS. I have also updated
all of the driver matrixes, as well as W95. About 5 months ago, they
also sent me a new battery, which made no difference. I have the
standard equipment battery.

Every time that IBM has returned the unit, they claim that it works OK
at their site, but I only get about 15 minutes out of the battery before

the system goes into hibernation. At that point, the battery meter
shows around 85% to 95% or even more charge remaining. When the problem
started, I was getting about 45 minutes out of the battery. Before
that, I got about 2 to 2.5 hours out on the battery.

Of course, now even the CD-ROM is acting up: it skips or even shuts
down in the middle of a music CD, although it works fine with data CDs.

I appreciate any assistance or guidance you may offer.

David
