Hi all,
I'm wondering if any of you would like to share your experiences leasing
IBM equipment. Good or bad, ThinkPad, Netfinity, IntelliStation etc., any
leasing agent at all, but particularly Fidelity would be good to
read. (Feel free to reply via e-mail if you think this thread is
off-topic.)
Before you ask why I'd lease, I'll asnwer. I'm a partner in a small
firm. Anything we buy is an asset, and we must pay income taxes on the
remaining book value. If we lease, we do not own the asset. Since I am a
junior partner, my senior partners would bear the brunt of all computers
the company buys, so they are loathe to buy.
If I buy it myself outright, then it's not deductable, at least according
to our tax advisor.
Many thanks,
Chris Schumann <whizkid_at_dwave.net>
