the hitachi drive is found in many, if not all, 600E machines..
the 600E 400mhz machine i have now uses a 10gig, hitachi drive..
i don't know the speed or data throughput, but it seems to work well enough.. :-)
the toshiba drives seem to be quieter and also has a 1meg data buffer... makes
throughput faster, i suspect.. :-)
if the drive gets noisier and becomes bothersome, it is a warranty matter..
i suggest you go that route first, THEN spend $$ on another brand..
