Good suggestions but you still need to run TCP/IP between the two machines, which means also configuring a slip or ppp connection (or getting ethernet). Not impossible though.
You could always try 'floppy-net', runs at about 100kB/s, and uses 1.44 MB packets. Both Linux and W95 are compatible.

RedHat comes with Samba already pre-compiled, only need to make sure it is selected during the install.
Samba, though, only allows MS OSes to access Unix file systems, not the viceversa. To mount W95 (and WfW and NT) shares on Linux, you can use smbfs (public domain) or similar commercial products.
RedHat is predisposed to run smbfs, but you need to make sure the kernel you use has the appropriate drivers activated. There is an HOWTO about it, or
do a search on the 'Net.
