I guess there are two comments here. One is that most people, if
they're in a position where they're trying to go as long as
possible on batteries, will probably not use the CD-ROM.
Secondly, on my original TP600, a battery isn't an option for the
UltraSlimBay. So when I want to switch batteries, I hibernate (I
think that's it, write the RAM to HD anyway), put a new battery in
the _battery_ compartment, and boot back up. I'm not using a
CD-ROM probably, more likely I have a second HD in the
UltraSlimBay. This might work for you.
May I ask what your application is, that requires two batteries, a
CD-ROM, _and_ precludes shutting down for two minutes to change
batteries?
