Mark,

We haven't tried it yet, but another program offered at the IBM website
looks promising as well. It's called
"DriveGuide":

  http://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/hddtech/dg-v10149.exe

It also bypasses BIOS limitations when upgrading with an IBM HDD. Do NOT
use it with Ontrack's
DiskManager, however. Only use one, or the other.

Best wishes,

Subject: 6.4Gb HDD ceiling Q...?

I know that some Tpads (mine in particular) will only identify a maximum
size HDD of 6.4Gb with the latest BIOS.
 But what happens if you put a larger drive in?

I am looking to acquire an 8.1Gb drive for my 755CX at a *very* competitive
price and am happy to end up using just 6.4Gb of it ...would this be the
case???

Thanks all for your experience...

Mark
