Yes, but I caused it by using one too many "would"s.
What I meant, was if it were a 19mm Travelstar at 75gig, I'd decide
immediately that my 12.7mm would be 54gig. but because I don't
know what the typical ratio is between a 3.5" Deskstar and the
corresponding 19mm and 12.7mm Travelstars (for instance, does the
2.5" 19mm at 25gig correspond to a 3.5" at 31gig? 3.5" at 37gig?
or??), I wonder how big this density will translate into.
I like your comment about the big TP700. From hefting a friend's
Dell 7500, I'd have guessed it took a 3.5" drive! [joke, it's not
_that_ heavy, but I'll stick with my TP600]

And with my Nortel 1-meg-modem (ADSL), I can fill it in two months!
(With my former cablemodem, more like one month).
We had a similar discussion when the 18gig came out for TP600. Why
haul around a collection of CD-Rs, or be forever sync'ing the
notebook to a desktop, and swapping files in and out!? Just put in
the biggest HD available and carry everything! (That's my attitude
anyway; I have a 10, a 6, and a 4; guess I should start thinking
about an 18).
