--Hi there everyone, I've just retooled my thinkpad 701c with a new OS. I've put on Win98 SE and it's actually pretty peppy(well right now with a virgin OS anyway). I am still having problems with the powermanagement hardware though. Here is the problem. At 30% remaining on the battery the hardware sounds the alarms and instantlys shuts off. I have downloaded the battery meter reconditioner as suggested from this list, but at 30% I still shut down. What gives? I have updated the BIOS from Bill Morrows website before I ran the battery meter utility too, but still no go. Any suggestions? Is there another hardware setting I can change in the BIOS that I don't know about? I currently have my power settings at Custom. I have told it never to shut down the hard drive, and to shut down the display after 15 minutes of inactivity, but I don't see something that sets the automatic shut down when power is low. Thanks one and all.
