When at "home base", I often use the Adaptec 1460A SCSI PCMCIA card to
talk with my SyJet, Yamaha CD-RW drive, and (occasionally) a couple
other HDs. Works fine. I think they've got a newer version of the same
card, plus a CardBus (32-bit) version, maybe the 1480?
Just the other day, I saw a gizmo in a mail order catalog (PC
Connection, maybe?) that claimed to be a box you could put a 2.5 or
3.5 inch HD into and come out the other end with USB. The thing was
about $89. They also had a parallel port version ofr $20-30 less. If I
see it again, I'll let the list know.
Ron.
