Now that I have installed win98 on my new 18G HDD of my TP600E with the
original drivers (I had upgraded drivers on the older HDD), is there any
compelling reason to (or not to) upgrade the official TP drivers?

I have heard about new BIOSes causing problems with Linux, which I intend
to re-install Real Soon Now, as soon as Win98 installation appears to be
stable.
