Hello.

Did he only damage the caddy?.
Dirt cheap drives carries caddies for the IBM line.
I have a chintzy 3rd party caddy in my 701.
I sanded the rails down, there were bits of excess plastic that left rough
spots. The 755 needs to have the ribbon cable folded just right or it will
hang in the case. Figure on paying around $ 30 +
for a used caddy and drive. FRU 39H7040
ASM 29H9484. or around $ 10 for just the caddy. And this is on ebay.
I have bought caddys for the 755 in the past, 3 for $ 20 , new in the
package. Moral of the story, why swap drives in the caddies?, why not whole
caddies?. This makes playing with OSs really easy, and if your new drive
dies,,,.
