Don't hold your breath. My TP380Z (purchased new 11/98) came with a card
to be returned to IBM to receive the engraved nameplate. I sent it in
within days of the purchase and after 17 months, I'm still waiting for
mine to arrive.
You are more likely to get an engraved nameplate by going to your local
mall and purchasing one from the local engraver/jeweler.
