Is that true of the SIO drivers?

My antique modem only goes 28.8 so I can't tell,
but I at least get that, reliably, using SIO instead
of the IBM drivers. I always set compression
to 115.x being an optimist. This modem however
is capable of twice that given the correct file,
and the same modem on the other end.

I also use SIO and Vmodem to get to a third
virtual port, to check over at Compuserve from
time to time while logged onto my ISP. The
mouse is on COM1, and the regular modem
Com2, and of course the virtual modem is
Com3. So, maybe you can have some fun
too, at a higher speed.
