Palm sync (?) problem

Since we're talking about Palms right now, I'm having a problem
with mine and am not sure how best to solve it.

Configuration:
TP600
Palm Vx
serial connection
Lotus Organizer v6
HotSync (built in to Organizer)

It worked fine until recently, but the sync'ing stops at the
contact list. The Palm shows a "Fatal Error" and I think I have to
use the button on the back to reset. I've discovered that after
doing that, when I start the Palm and hit the "contacts" button
(telephone), I get a Fatal Error and have to reboot, so I don't
think it's the sync'ing that's the problem. Might have caused it
though.

The only solution I can find from the manual is to do a Hard Reset.
Don't think I'll lose much from the Palm but that's all I can
think of. If I do that, do I have to do something with the Palm
Desktop, or can I go straight to Lotus? The manual only talks
about PD.

Thanks!

(BTW, here's an edited version of the log, dates are
MM/DD/YY at start of each, DD/MM/YY at end. Any ideas will be
appreciated!)
