i dont think ibm will bother to update the drivers, i've seen this tactic before, when
they release something newer they give all their support to that, so since newer
laptops use a Lucent (?) modem, they wont bother with the MWave.

Actualy i'd do the same thing, why spend money+time+resources of programmers
on a task that you can get away with?
