Hi,
Thanks for the info. I wasn't really looking for an additional power
supply but rather only wanted to know if I could get away with using
my friend's powersupply every once in a while if I was stuck with low
power.
Cheers,
Esmail

Yes. The 560 COULD CHARGE from a 701 power supply, however, the 701 supply
is not rated for the full load of a 560. I would recommend a cheap 15.5
volt, at least 2.5 amp power supply. This can be done cheaply by getting a 3
amp rated 12 volt ( 13.6v )
power supply that is used, for example, to run a automotive C.B. radio. This
will have some regulation adjust. Set this for 15.5, and get the correct
'barrel' connection.
Tip is positive +. Radio Shack in the U.S. has a size selector and carries
the correct barrel. The other alternative is to get a generic 15.5 volt
supply of the correct current rating. It MUST be regulated, a switching
supply is always regulated.
The generic supply I have can power the 560, 701 and the 730 with the
correct " tip ".
The empower can power thinkpads directly.
