Hi!

I've had to install a RedHat Linux to a 760XD. Works pritty well so
far, but I still have some trouble with sound. (Not that I ever got
Linux to make any sound on any other machine till now...) modprobe for
sb.o loads the basic devices but itself doesn't load at all but only
tells me that the ressources are in use. Well I checked the interrupts
and found that Linux likes to configure my 3COM Etherlink to IRQ5.
Before I started to dig out how to tell Linux it should use any other
interrupt I simply removed it (even upon startup) but sb.o still tells
me IRQ 5 is in use. How could I get this working? SB16-emulation for
MWave is ON and configured to the default ressources SB16 allocates.

Next point: I found that for whatever reason RedHat initializes eth0
before loading the PCMCIA-modules. Well this can't work, so I get a
[failed] upon startup. Then PCMCIA services are started and the network
card is initialized and it's module loads. I'd consider this "strange"
and I'd like to change the order to "first PCMCIA then the cards
attached to it". Unfortunately the docs are very elaborated about this
issue. (Not a single line.)

Now my next problem (and the last one for now) is more software
concerned. Actually I got SAMBA to work (oh well OS/2 is soooooo much
easier) but I'd search a tool to sync two directories. Simply check
which files are newer in either dir and copy it appropriatly and
replacing the older ones. Like IBM's nsync on OS/2. Does anybody know
if such a tool exists?

My next target will be IR and stuff. So if anybody has a good link on
the web where I could find an "easy to use" setup-guide. It took a bit
long some time ago as we fiddlet out simlar things on SuSE. (Yes, I
know vim ;)
