Hello.
The 701 is quite a challenge to take apart if you have never taken a laptop
apart before.
You will need a torx t-1 for the four front screws.
If you only suspect the display, remove the four front screws, they are a
more easily found size, then, GENTLY pry the bottom right corner, this will
free up the right section. The idea is to gently work the inside part that
is a frame, from the outside. Once it is loose, you can pull the top, ( the
area with the 2 latches ) apart, being careful as the latches have springs
and like to go airborne, once this is done you will find a microphone that
is simply held in place, make a note of it and the position of it and the
plastic brackets, this MUST go back together as it came apart, no room for
error here. The display is connected by 2 flat cables, one has a plug
connection, the other one is soldered, conversly, the planer board "
motherboard" has the inverse. Please remember ESD. Static straps are very
cheap insurance.
