I've just installed OS/2 Warp 4J, no fixpacks, on a Japan-market
ThinkPad 535E, wich has a 150 MHz MMX Pentium CPU and 72 MB of RAM.

When installing the OS I was careful to install base Multimedia
support. After making sure the OS was installed and working
correctly, I installed the ThinkPad System Management Driver, then
MWave for OS/2 (no MIDI). The MWave installation seemed to complete
correctly, and at bootup I see the message from the MWAVEDD.SYS
driver as it's loaded, then the brief MWave copyright splash screen
right after the desktop appears.

Here are the problems.

- System sounds are apparently enabled, but there's no sound.
- When the MWave modem has been started (by double-clicking the modem
icon in the MWave folder), then anything that generates a system
sound crashes the desktop and displays a SYS3175 error.

Any thoughts on how to start looking for a solution?
