This was discussed a couple of weeks ago. Recall that IBM's
adapter is ~U$39 on their site, or C$38 (~U$26) at the local IBM
store. Someone suggested that Belkin or others make a cable that
should work.

I've heard that before, but could never track one down, and figured
the savings might not be that great anyway. (I bought mine from
the IBM store 18 months ago).

Well, I'm happy to report that I saw one in a local computer store.
 It's made by StarTech (www.startech.com or www.startechcomp.com).
I see these guys' display in practically every computer store in
Ottawa these days! Just for fun, I bought the cable to try. It's
labelled:

6 Inch IBM Keyboard Y Splitter Cable
Allows Notebook PCs touse external PS/2 mouse and keyboard
Designed for IBM Notebooks

Model: KYC1MF

The price? C$6.99 (~U$5.00) !!

I've been using it for over a week, and if you can read this, it's
still working. ;)
