I'm about to put Windows 2000 on a 770Z, but have just learned that key
remap utilities - which I use to swap Ctrl and CapsLock keys for all my
work - will not run under W2K. The reason the remapping is so important to
me is that I rely very much on an excellent WordStar keyboard command
add-in
(http://www.petrie.u-net.com/computing/wordstar/emulators/word8/pages/wordst
ar.htm) to enable a touch-typing based WordStar command set in Outlook and
MS Word. I, and a surprising number of others with intensive word
processing requirements, have traditionally used the Keyboard Remapping
Utility in the W95 Kernel Toys Set
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/WUToys/W95KernelToy/D
efault.asp) or the ZDNet Key Remap Utility
(http://hotfiles.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/texis/swlib/hotfiles/info.html?fcode=000O
JB&b=) to switch Ctrl and CapsLock keys for this purpose.
I was hoping that list members' familiarity with NT and now W2K might
produce a remedy here. Does anyone know how these two keys can be remapped
under these programs, or whether it may be possible at all?
Many thanks - Jeff plumbush2_at_mediaone.net
