I can't BELIEVE that any of you guys actually believed that you would GET the
machine specified for the dollar amount that you bid..! :-)
its one of the universal rules of life, no free lunch..
what a bunch of gullible uhh.. folks... that having been said, i am a fool,
since i too bid on the impossible dream.. :-)
i got four e-mails stating that the order was in and on and at the warehouse..
(some warehouse!)
then just this evening i got another e-mail, apologetic this time, saying sorry
charlie (read fool), due to an error your order is cancelled..
(my my, what a surprise) BUT, since we want to retain you as a customer, we'll
give you up to $50 off on your next bid..
>from reading some of the angry posts at the below indicated links, it appears
that someone might be responsible for fulfilling those successful bids..
(HAH, i won't hold my breath, and anyway, by the time they DO fulfill, the
hardware will be antique)
the term "class action" has been used by some of the posters, and it might be
interesting to see if suce a cause of action exists..
now all we need do is find a lawyer who has electronic commerace and class
action lawsuits as areas of practice..
if such a case exists, THIS fool is for it.. :-)
at best this is some error, at worst, it is a ploy to harvest personal data for
some reason.. sale to a spammer, for future fraud..?
along with the $50 and some sort of legal attack, i think that all trace of my
personal information must be erased from all data retrieval systems connected in
any way with ubid, the seller and anyone else connected with them..
**rant is now over**
