Hi all. I recall a while ago that someone was talking about re-packing
their battery packs.

I have the following problem. In my Thinkpad 760CD - I have a Ni-MH battery
pack that is SUPPOSED to give over two hours continuous use when fully
charged. (yeah right)
It discharges normally till about 54 % and then it beeps high low high low
(warning Will Robinson!) and the display shows 0%.

I opened it up, carefully peeling the yellow sticker off the top, and I see
that there is 14 cells (1.2 V 1800mA hour) and they are parallelled to give
8.4 V and 3.5AH .

Does anyone know where to get these cells (1.8 AH or better?) and where's
the cheapest place to get 'em.

I can re-pack the unit myself (I suspect one or more of the cells is short
circuit) if I can get a hold of some new cells cheaply.

Here's all the details I could see on the battery cells themselves:

14 Cells
Ni-MH type
1.2 Volts Nominal (1800mA Hours)
Number Toshiba TH-1800A
17mm wide x 42mm long

   | | 42mm

   |_____| V

Another number on the actual cell is 17D903AUT

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers
J
