BATTERY DURATION ON NEW TP 600E ?????

I jus got a brand new TP 600E. I 'm breaking in the battery by running in down to zero and I'm on the third cycle. But the most running time I'm getting is 1 1/2 hrs. Now this is in straight word processing not using with the modem which I know uses more power and etc.

My question -- isn't this a bit short lived for a brand new battery?

Now I know the specs say 3 hrs - I 'm realistic to know I would not get this -- but one and half hours seems a bit too short and odd.

Let me know your experience -- before I call IBM and get a replacement.
