760 will recognise up to 6.4gig, and maybe more if a bios overlay is
used...
(more on this some other post)
your problem with the 4gig is the same old addressing thing..
the machine is telling the HDD that its a slave.. when it should be the
master drive..

you're trying to reuse the original 760 HDD shell.. it either needs
surgery, or the 4 addressing jumpers need surgery or you need one of my
generic 760 HDD shells..
