IBM didn't change Steve, the Standard did. All drive manufacturers changed the
Master/Slave jumpers between the time your 2GB drive and 4GB drives were built.

Hence the problem with getting newer drives to work in "old" Thinkpad drive
shells and the necessity to perform surgery on the pins.
