Regarding passive screens....I used a Toshiba Satellite for a couple of days
(don't remember the model, but it was a couple years old) that had a passive
screen and I had a lot of trouble seeing things on the screen. Anytime I moved
the mouse I couldn't see the cursor because of the passive screen. I had to
turn on mouse pointer trails, but even that didn't help all that much. I have a
Thinkpad 760XL right now and love it.
