There are three ways to look at this case:
1. If Judge Judy's court was in session, the people who went out and bought
a single unit were entirely blameless. The people, who managed to find more
than one unit, had no DIRECT contract with the original poster and so could
not be help liable in a legal way. Open messages in a public forum are
unlikely to form the basis of a legal contract.
2. Outside of Judge Judy's court and closer to home, if one of my children
had been one of the lucky ones to find more than one of the units, and who
then did not offer the original poster a unit at cost plus expenses, such as
tax, fuel, and freight, that child would have been punished. If the child
had found five units, bragged about the find and then tried to turn over a
unit at a huge profit to the original poster, then that child would have
been grounded for a year or worse.
3. In the larger court of the universe, the child who found five units,
bragged about the find and then tried to turn over a unit at a huge profit,
will ultimately have to deal with the karma of that act. We have no way of
knowing the fate of this person but it is fair to say that a great deal of
pain and suffering is likely over time in this life or the next.
Anyone who feels that they might fall in group 3, could heavily influence
the fates with an act of atonement.
The Judge has ruled!
