Hi everyone,
I recently dropped my TP240 and the screen broke. I called IBM to ask how
much it would cost to replace the screen, and it turned out to be more than
the original cost of the laptop ($1100 for repair, $1069 for original
purchase). Right now I use my laptop connected to an external monitor.
Anyway I wanted to ask what options I have (besides buying a new laptop
because I've already done that...a Sony Z505JE on the way). Is there a
market for laptops like mine with a broken screen? I happen to own a Workpad
Z50 that has the same dimensions...is it possible to switch screens? If the
240 is not worth anything on the market, I know I can still use it fine
connected to an external monitor. In that case, is it possible to remove the
broken LCD screen without affecting operation of the computer?
Any input appreciated.
Eugene
