T20 vs. T21 - why did IBM drop the T20 so quickly?

Why has IBM launched the T21 so soon after introducing the T20? I know
the T21 is getting the SXGA screens, but changing screen size/resolution
has not warranted a major model designation change in the past.

I have seen a couple of reports of serious overheating problems, perhaps
associated with the video. Has anybody in the group with a T20
experienced significant problems? More generally, is there any real
reason to avoid buying a T20 to wait a bit for the T21s to become more
available/affordable?

BTW, I run OS/2 and Linux. IBM talks about making Linux available on the
T21s but not in connection with the T20s - that makes me wonder what the
real differences are under the hood.

Any help, comments are greatly appreciated.
