Have you tried a larger RAM chip? IBM has a tendency to understate
the max amount of RAM. I remember with my 560 (the Pentium 133Mhz
model) they claimed a max RAM limit of 40MB because the largest
available upgrade at the time was 32MB. When 64MB chips became
available, they worked without a hitch. We had a similar discussion
recently about the 600E, where the stated max. is 288MB but JHEM got
his to 384MB.
