The IBM Access Point only costs $30 on Ebay which is why I was asking!!!
I read on the newsgroups that it needs to be booted and can be reloaded
with new software via "TFTP", so sounds like theoretically it should be
possible for an enterprising individual to reprogram the thing to work
with 802.11b wireless cards if it won't work with them already.
However, I don't think anyone has done this.

40-bit would do.

Thanks for the pointer. I might have to try something different,
because $405 plus 2 additional 802.11b PCMCIA cards ends up with a very
steeply priced wireless network!
It's nice to see the prices dropping though. A few months ago the
cheapest 11mbps wireless LAN cards I could find were $200-250. Now I
see some (Addtron AWP-100) for as low as $117/each.
I might have to go peer-to-peer on this one with dual NICs in one server
because a PCI adapter is only $38.
