        Just to be clear: the connect speed is fine, but the performance
sucks. When I'm downloading data it pauses for no apparent reason and
things inexplicably time out or stop. I know it's not my phone line or
ISP servers since my Sony C1XS still works fine using the same account
and phone line - as did my 600E before the upgrade.
        I hate to go back, since Windows 2000 seems very good - Office
hasn't worked so well on any other system I've got. But if I can't use
the thing effectively on the road, W2K is no good to me.
