I'm another happy Lucent/ORiNOCO user. If you get their stuff for home use,
be sure to get the RG-1000 gateway bundled with a Silver card. You save
about $80 over buying the RG-1000 and card separately.
I tried a 3Com wireless card but returned it. They are unsound mechanically:
The antenna is loose and flimsy. The instructions warn you to not use the
antenna as a handle to pull the card out, and they aren't kidding! I pull my
Lucent cards out by the antenna all the time.
