In my (unusually) painful and error-filled attempts to install mandrake72
on my X20, I killed the W2K boot sector. I had previously deleted
the service partition so that route is not an option.

Anyone have any ideas on how to restore the boot record? Is there
the equivalent of a startup floppy disk for W2K so that I
can fdisk/mbr ?

Meanwhile, I ordedred a recovery cd from ibm ($38) but I have no idea
ho that will help, since my X20 wont boot from my usb-cd rom.

Any ideas or suggestions will be gratefully accepted!

Thanks

Vaidy Sunderam
