FWIW, I have been using my TP560X almost daily for the past 3 years. Not
aware that it was the ultimate sin, I have left it plugged in (with A/C)
more than 95% of the time. While the battery is certainly no longer in its
heyday (you would expect that given its age), it still holds its charge
decently well and doesn't exhibit the behavior you described. I think
yours has reached the end of its useful life. I bought a brand-new TP600
battery on eBay for $86 last month. There's also a fellow list member
(Sashka) that had several for sale (I think he was asking $110 for them).
