You know about the IBM utility that gives you almost instant font
enlargement? Try Fn-Shift. You can magnify the screen display from 130 per
cent to around 200 per cent. It should be in your preload. If it isn't,
it's downloadable off the IBM website.

Once the program is loaded into memory, there's an icon on the toolbar that
allows you to vary maginification. I've found this quite helpful, even
though the fonts aren't quite as sharp in their nonnative 1600 x 1200 res.

Michael,

I've switched Windoze (2k) to Large Fonts, which made things better.
BUT, many applications are not affected by this. For example, Outlook
Express, which I'm using right now, still displays tiny fonts in most
windows. Maybe I exagerated a bit about this whole font size problem,
but I
still think it might cause problems to some people.

Bryan,

I guess fonts' size is pixel-based (same for icons), so they grow
smaller as
res. increases. True, everything is definitely sharper, but also much
smaller.

I forgot a word about the Thinklight. Didn't think I would be very
useful.
Well, it really is...
