The easiest way, Mary Lou, is to boot the Win98 floppy,
and use that to make a FAT32 partition (with fdisk) then
format the disk (with format /sys) and get your hard drive
to boot text-mode with CD-ROM driver first.
Once that is done, start the machine and copy the setup folder
to /windows/options/cabs and run setup from there.
Let us know if you need more info.
Chris

Subject: Installing OS to a blank HDD...
Hello,
I'm a new TP user and I have a rather
important question (to me anyway):
How do I install WIN98SE to my
hard drive without an external
cd-rom drive? Am I dreaming? Do
I need to have a selectadock or
external cd-rom to do this?
Oh, I failed to mention I have a
TP 760XL, I do have a 20xCDrom
drive that I swap with my floppy...
This seemed so easy to do on all
of my old Desktops!
Clueless in Upstate NY...
