Standby problem on TP600e with Win2k--Keyboard device?

When Win2k tries to enter standby, a "System Standby Failed" dialog box
comes up and says, "The device driver for the 'Standard 101/102-Key or
Microsoft ... Keyboard' device is preventing the machine from entering
standby..." (at least it didn't crash).

Any ideas on how to fix or get around this? There doesn't seem to be any
updates out there for the keyboard driver.
