EZServ dilemma

So after my last, uh, "experience" with EZScrooU (where they tried
to hold my machine hostage for damage *they* caused, then a month
after I _thought_ I'd resolved everything they billed my CCard again
anyway and made me fight all the same battles again), I'm unsure
what to do. I've got a roughly 2-year-old TP600 (well within its
warranty) that's having troubles with its Cardbus-to-PCI bridge or
whatever it is. My Cardbus network card (I tried several of them to
rule that out) is periodically wigging out and I see PCI errors from
the kernel (running Linux, 2.2.18 kernel). I can down the interface
and eject the card, then reinsert it, and it recovers, but it's
becoming more frequent. It seems physical, too -- if you bump the
card (usually when inserting a card in the other slot), it often goes
into that same state.

So, what's a poor IBM "customer" to do? I've got a defective
machine, covered (IMHO, obviously) by a warranty that I certainly
paid through the nose for (initial purchase price), yet I'm afraid to
have it addressed, because of the ridiculous behavior of the group
of pirates I need to send it to for service. Mr. Gerstner, you
listening? This really isn't the IBM from whom I bought 4 Thinkpads
of my own (and recommended dozens more)...
