My 560 model is 2640-F0E. It has a P133, 8 MB of RAM, and a 1.3 GB HDD. I'd like to upgrade the memory to max and am getting conflicting opinions on the max permitted. I will be using it with DSL via a Linksys 4 port router with a Linksys 56K/10/100 PC card. This machine was recently "renewed" by IBM under an extended warranty, where they replaced several parts, reinstalled the original OS, etc.
Original IBM literature says 40 MB memory max (adding a 32 DIMM), Crucial says it will take a 64 MB.
For HDD I am totally confused. IBM says upgrades are not user-installable, but I see lots advertised.
Finally, should I add the DUN upgrade to W95 or install the W98 upgrade?
Appreciate your views.
