I bought a second-hand TP570 3 months ago. Until very recently, it ran
very quietly, because the fan seldom went on. Now, however, the fan is
always on, even when the TP is definitely cool (eg. just started, or
resumed from suspend).
I installed an extra 128 MB, replaced the HDD (Travelstar 5.1GB -> Hitachi
20GB) and installed W2K right from the beginning, after which I haven't
changed anything in the configuration, at least not knowingly.
Any hint on how I could reinstate the previous behavior (= fan goes on
only when the TP is getting hot)?
